Dr. Capps joined Triangle Pediatrics in 2008. She earned her bachelor’s degree in history at Vanderbilt University and received her medical degree from the University of Florida. She returned to Vanderbilt to complete her pediatric residency. While training in Nashville, she met and married her husband, Michael Capps, an internal medicine and pediatric physician in private practice in Cary. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a Diplomate of American Board of Pediatrics and a member of both the North Carolina Medical Society and the North Carolina Pediatric Society.
As the mother of 3 children, she finds plenty to keep her busy in addition to the practice of medicine. While her academic training prepared her well to care for children’s medical needs, Dr. Capps feels her experience as a mother has added an integral part to what she can offer the families she treats. “I love seeing new babies and new parents in the office. Just like I was, they can be unsure and full of nervous happiness. I really enjoy helping them through the pitfalls of sleeplessness, nursing and sickness so that they can learn to love parenthood,” she says.
