Are We a Good Fit?
In This Section
Selecting a pediatrician is a significant decision. We respect the role of parents as the primary decision makers for their children. Our role is to provide recommendations, knowledge and perspectives based on many years of training and real-world experience. The policies detailed below are intended to help us provide the best care to our patients.
Please read the following checklist carefully to be sure Triangle Pediatrics is the appropriate medical home for your children.
Vaccines
Our Vaccine Policy follows the schedule outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Antibiotics
We work hard to not overuse antibiotics. We educate families on appropriate use of antibiotics, but follow evidence-based guidelines and don’t automatically treat ear pain or a green snotty nose with antibiotics. We will prescribe an antibiotic when we believe it is an appropriate treatment.
We do not routinely prescribe antibiotics over the phone as we do not believe that is good medicine.
Additionally, we do not routinely prescribe antibiotics over the phone, as we strongly believe it is not sound medical practice to do so without a proper assessment. Antibiotics are only prescribed when deemed necessary and appropriate after a thorough evaluation, prioritizing the well-being of our patients while avoiding the risks of antibiotic resistance and unnecessary side effects.
Medical Home
We provide comprehensive medical care for all aspects of our patients' health. To that end, we want you to contact our office FIRST before seeking specialty care. This enables us to provide:
- more convenient and cost-effective care in our office
- refer you to the most appropriate specialist
- help coordinate all the care you receive from different doctors, therapists and hospitals
Whenever you do see a specialist, please request that a report be sent directly to our office so we may stay informed and have the most up-to-date information in your medical record.
Technology
Up to date technology helps us provide excellent care. Our Electronic Medical Record system is designed specifically for pediatrics. Using our patient portal, you will have access to useful portions of your child's medical chart. We also use automated reminders to remind you about upcoming appointments and immunizations.
Office Hours
Appointments for well care visits are available throughout the day, Mondays through Fridays. We also offer same day sick appointments 6 days a week.
After Hours
We have a physician on call 24 hours a day, every day of the year. When our office is closed, you can click here to contact our registered nurses who can provide advice and contact our on-call physician if needed.

Scheduling Appointments
For acute care, call the office to speak with triage staff, who will listen to your concerns and schedule an appointment for you. Sometimes an appointment may not be needed, and staff will advise you regarding your issue, or check with the physician and call you back.
If our nurses are all on with other callers, you can enter the virtual queue to receive a return call back or choose to remain on the line. Either way, you will not lose your place in line.
For well visits, call our routine appointment line. Well visits may be scheduled up to 12 months in advance.
