Are You Expecting?

Congratulations!

If you are preparing to welcome a new baby into your family, we hope you will consider using Triangle Pediatrics!

First Appointment

A few weeks before delivery, call the office to let us know you are expecting. You may want to download and complete our paperwork at that time. When the baby arrives, you can tell the hospital staff that you have chosen us as your pediatrician.

At the hospital, mother and baby will be cared for by the neonatal staff. The staff will most likely recommend Hepatitis B vaccine, vitamin K antibiotic ointment for the eyes and we agree with this recommendation. Most babies will be ready to go home at 2 to 5 days of age. The hospital staff will recommend when baby should first visit the pediatrician, usually 24-72 hours after leaving the hospital. Just give us a call on the day of discharge and we will schedule baby's first check up.

We recommend both parents accompany baby to the first visit. Mothers will have the opportunity to meet with our lactation consultant if needed.
