Schedule a Well Visit Now
Checkups/Annual Exams/Physicals
Triangle Pediatrics offers routine and sports physicals for infants, children and adolescents. Newborns and infants should be seen frequently during the first 3 years of life. After age 3, patients should be seen once every year. We continue to care for adolescents through age 21.
The primary focus of checkups is preventing future disease and promoting normal growth and development. Before the appointment, we will use a variety of online screening tools to identify situations that may require more attention like mental health concerns, socio-economic challenges, high-risk behaviors and infection risks. In the office, we discuss nutrition, exercise, sleep habits, behavior, school performance, dental health and much more. The visit will include a thorough physical exam which will be sensitive to the patient’s need for age-appropriate privacy. We will make recommendations about immunizations and laboratory tests. We are happy to complete any paperwork for school, sports teams or camps during these visits.
Discussion of chronic medical conditions and acute sicknesses are not a routine part of checkups. When scheduling your well visit, please let us know if you want to discuss these issues. Charges to you or your insurance company for management of these extra issues are separate from and in addition to our charges for a well visit. Please review this important information about insurance coverage.
Immunizations
Immunizations are arguably the single most effective element of preventative healthcare. We want to help families make well-informed decisions about vaccines. Please read our immunization policy and speak with us about any questions you may have. You may also wish to refer to our vaccination and developmental screening schedule for a list and timeline of recommended services.
