Sports Physicals
What Does Getting a Sports Physical Mean?
Every child or teen in North Carolina who plays a sport or engages in activities like cheerleading must have a sports physical or a preparticipation physical examination. These evaluations are also used to clear athletes to return to their activities after injury or illness. At Triangle Pediatrics, these evaluations are a routine part of a child's annual well visit regardless of their plans to participate in a sport.
Sports physicials include:
- Ensure your child is prepared for vigorous physical activities
- Gather information on your child’s health and development
- Watch for potential warning signs of serious illness
- Meet the requirements of your child’s school, camp, or sports team
- Identify possible risk factors specific to your child's sport
- Receive advice on avoiding injuriesIf your child needs a physical, call our office or schedule an appointment online.
